The State Bank of India is the country’s oldest bank and has widespread network. It is headquartered in Mumbai. SBI conducts online objective prelim and mains exams which are followed by GD and Interview for Clerk for its bank. Recently its associate banks viz. State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore and State Bank of Mysore have got merged into it.

Overview

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:   Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests and test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

NOTE: Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for online main examination. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Phase – II: Main Examination:   The structure of main examination (online objective type) would be as follows:

The above tests except the Tests of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Eligibility

Age:   As on 01.08.2016: Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 28 years i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1988 and not later than 01.08.1996 (both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualification:   Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 12.09.2016.
